In recent years, a number of companies have introduced liquid vitamin supplements, some of them claiming that these products far outperform the traditional vitamin pill. While some companies took their claims too far (and were charged accordingly), the debate continues as to which type of vitamin is the most effective.
The main advantage of a liquid supplement is the speed and ease of absorption by the body. Since there is no need to break down a solid, the vitamins are absorbed immediately. Liquid fans also claim that the absorption rate is much higher, making the supplements more effective.
There are also those who hate swallowing big vitamin pills or simply can’t swallow them due to a medical condition. For instance, people who have had gastric bypass surgery find it hard to keep a pill down. Throat surgery can also make swallowing solids painful. For people like this, liquid vitamins are the only viable option.
But liquid supplements have their drawbacks. One of the main problems is that the vitamins and minerals do not keep their potency as well in liquid form. That means that the liquids have a shorter shelf life than pills.
There are also enzymes contained in some vitamin tablets that aid in the absorption of the nutrients. These enzymes can’t be included in liquid vitamins because they only last for a day or so in liquids. While with pills, the enzymes retain their effectiveness for the entire shelf life of the products.
The claim of faster and more complete absorption of liquids is also challenged by some experts. While it’s true that we digest liquids more quickly than solids, this does not necessarily lead to a more effective product.
The most effective place for vitamin absorption is at the beginning of the small intestine. There are some claims that much of the contents of liquid vitamins is destroyed by stomach acids before it even gets this far. Pills, meanwhile, are coated to keep them from dissolving completely before they reach the small intestine.
While we live in a world where immediate effects are usually considered a good thing, their relevance for vitamins is questionable. After all, our bodies don’t suddenly have vitamin emergencies. If one vitamin supplement is absorbed into our systems an hour sooner than another, it’s unlikely to have any noticeable effect on our overall health.
When it comes to our health, nobody likes to guess what is best. But until enough time has passed to show for certain whether there is a difference between the effects of liquid and tablet vitamins, you’ll simply have to go with the one that makes the most sense for you. As long as you are focused on a healthy lifestyle and good nutrition, the format of your vitamin supplement shouldn’t be a critical decision.

Diet pills are often frowned upon because of high costs, dangerous side effects, and the hassle of getting prescriptions from a physician. That’s why many people who want to lose weight are turning to natural supplements such as Hoodia. Hoodia is a non-prescription herbal natural remedy for losing weight. The “Hoodia craze” in the media has resulted in more and more dieters inquiring about this amazing diet herb.
What is Hoodia?
Hoodia is a natural herbal supplement derived from a succulent plant from the milkweed family. This cactus plant grows in the Kalahari Desert in Africa. It has been used by tribal bushmen of Africa for thousands of years. The bushmen would chew the plant during their hunting trips to suppress hunger and thirst as well as increase stamina. Though these bushmen probably rarely thought about dieting (if ever), they were using an herbal natural remedy that would eventually be desired by dieters around the world!
Hoodia and Weight Loss
Hoodia is available in several forms: Hoodia Gordonii diet pills, Hoodia Balance, and Hoodia Chaser (liquid form). When taken, Hoodia signals to the brain that you are no longer hungry or thirsty. This signal takes place because of Hoodia’s ingredient P57. P57 signals are similar to those of glucose, but much stronger. So, the appetite is suppressed at longer intervals.
Benefits of Hoodia
Hoodia offers many benefits to the weary dieter. It is a natural weight loss product and can be bought online or off-line without a prescription. This enables the dieter to buy several months’ supply or even a year’s supply without paying for ongoing doctor visits for diet pill prescription refills.
Being a natural weight loss supplement has other advantages as well. Hoodia, if bought in its pure natural form, does not contain the harmful chemicals contained by many other prescription or over-the-counter diet pills. For those who are inactive and have a difficult time controlling their appetite, Hoodia offers the sense of control in that it tells the brain that no food is needed so the person can concentrate on other things.
Hoodia also naturally enhances one’s mood and increases stamina. The dieter may feel a burst of energy and have a desire to be more active than normal. This, in turn, helps in the process of losing weight as well.
Hoodia Tips for You
While taking Hoodia products, it is recommended that you consume plenty of water and other liquids to prevent dehydration. The thirsty “feeling” may not be there, but your body still needs adequate amounts of liquids. Also, when those hunger pangs do arrive, eat healthy, well-balanced meals to give your body the vitamins and nutrients it needs. This will also enhance your weight loss and give you the energy you need to carry on daily tasks.
Before buying a Hoodia product, research the product and company carefully to be sure it is Hoodia in its purest form. There is a wealth of herb information on the Internet. Check labels for “additives” or extra chemicals and ingredients. Buying Hoodia that has been enhanced with other chemicals could hinder your weight loss efforts and be harmful to your health.
As with any new medication or natural supplement, talk with your physician to be sure there are no health conditions that would hinder you from taking Hoodia. If you have high blood pressure, a heart condition, diabetes, or some other serious condition, then talk with your physician before trying Hoodia.
People are choosing herbal cures and natural health products over prescription drugs like never before. You can even search online to find an herbal natural remedy such as Hoodia, Provillus, and many others at discounted prices. Start fighting obesity today with Hoodia.

There are plenty of reasons why consumers turn to nutritional supplements in order to improve their overall health. Today, there are so many diseases and cancer out there that we often look for natural or preventive measures for most of us. Whole foods are an excellent way to get the specific nutrients that your body craves and needs.
Wellness and awareness is a valid way in order to support your overall wellness. Often experts suggest that being deficient in a vitamin or mineral can cause certain problems. But when you treat the cause, you end up being better off again. Often quality vitamins can help you treat that cause or at least improve it.
Multivitamins, anti-oxidants, herbs and other specific products have played a major role for centuries in keeping you healthy. There has been so much research over the last 20 years on how many less trips to doctor’s offices when you are in good health by eating well, getting exercise and having an avid lifestyle. For example if you want to improve your bone density mass for youth, it helps to take good quality nutritional vitamins.
The problems also lie that in processed food, you are missing the vitamins and minerals that you really need. So a great way to make up for that is get them thru real whole foods or even sports nutritional supplements. Many of these types of products come in pills, powder, gels or even bars. Protein is an essential amino acid in helping you grow and repair your muscles. Educating yourself is definitely a good start.
The bottom line is that vitamins supplements can help fill the gaps to your eating habits. You need to get the right balance of proteins, CARBS, fats and water to stay healthy. Learning how to read labels is also a good beginning. When you take care of the long term, the short term will benefit also.

Multivitamins are a fancy for the health freaks in today’s world. Perhaps never in the history of social health statistics, are so many people feeling the need to pop in at least one multivitamin a day. We seem to have an array of valetudinarians lining up. People in the UK are spending a staggering amount of money on multivitamins. A well-balanced diet is one thing, but with increased health and cosmetic consciousness, various health supplements and body-care products are found new growing markets. However, somewhere the irony is that for all of our fetish for fitness and a well-toned body, most of us are neither up for the highly recommended balanced diet nor manage to find time to exercise well. Hectic lifestyles is one plausible reason. We rest our hopes then on health supplements to do the favours for us. These become a health-maintenance habit.
Pharmaceutical companies are riding on the tide of this health-consciousness among people, in a way started to counter today’s fashion of junk food and fizz drinks, leading to increased instances of lifestyle diseases like obesity and diabetes. However, Solgar is one brand company, which has been doing the rounds of the market as early as 1947. And of course, the durability of its presence speaks a lot about the time-tested quality and the confidence customers have on its products. These products have consistently managed to give us the satisfaction of good health and well-being.
Solgar has been known for its good amount of research and innovation and has been doing a good job of it through its range of multivitamins. In fact, this company today offers more than 400 premium quality nutritional supplements. The products cater to the specific needs of men, women, children, seniors, vegetarians, etc.
If you are interested in Solgar products to improve upon your general fitness, physical attractiveness and sense of wellness, you can visit online where you can order these products after collecting information about them.

According to a new study Vitamin D May be a life extender. Researchers who pooled the results of 18 separate experiments reported that people who were given a Vitamin D supplement had a 7 percent lower risk of premature death.
Earlier research has show that Vitamin D deficiencies are associated with higher risk of contracting major illnesses such as cancer, which account for 60 to 70 percent of death. The study speculates that the vitamin, which is used in organs and tissues throughout the body, may cut death rates by inhibiting the proliferation of cancerous cells.
Vitamin D is also known as the sunshine vitamin, because it is produced in naked skin that is exposed to strong sunlight. Sunshine is a significant source of vitamin D because UV rays from sunlight trigger vitamin D synthesis in the skin. The major biologic function of vitamin D is to maintain normal blood levels of calcium and phosphorus. By promoting calcium absorption, vitamin D helps to form and maintain strong bones. Many medical experts believe people living in northern countries have a chronic deficiency of the vitamin in winter, when the weak sunlight does not lead to creation of the nutrient in skin.
Although most of the Vitamin D people have is made in their skin, it is also available in supplements or some foods. Some multivitamins contain between 400 and 600 international units of Vitamin D. Foods such as oily fish like salmon and sardines are a natural source of the vitamin. Milk is commonly fortified with 100IU per cup.
Other recent studies link Vitamin D deficiency to a greater risk of other ailments, including heart disease, diabetes, unexplained muscle and joint pain, and various forms of cancer. As with MS and other autoimmune diseases, the secret may be in how this nutrient affects cell activity.
If you do not get enough sunlight or Vitamin D in your foods you should consider taking a Vitamin D supplement.

So many people are talking about hoodia now; newspapers, television reports, even Hollywood stars. Hoodia is the new dietary supplement for weight loss made from a South African Cactus. It’s all-natural, with no added stimulants and makes your body feel like its full. Hoodia comes in pill form, but now it’s becoming increasing available in hoodia spray form as well. What makes hoodia spray so much better than the pill form in this new diet trend?
What is Hoodia Spray?
Hoodia spray is the actual liquid extract of the plant; therefore no digestion is required. It’s in a pure, easy form and quickly absorbed into the body. Hoodia spray delivery time to the body is faster and about ten times more effective than the pill form. The liquid form of the diet pill, just like other liquid medicines, provides a more potent dosage and often, provides increased results.
Hoodia spray is more convenient to use than the pills. It also gives fast acting energy boost to the body because the supplement doesn’t need to be digested. Manufactures state that the hoodia spray can be used alone, or as supplement to other diet products, for the tough diet days everyone goes thru.
How Hoodia Spray Used?
Hoodia spray is incredibly easy to use. Two quick squirts under the tongue, right before each meal, are all that a user needs to take the product. Many manufacturers online are offering the hoodia spray in flavors, including peppermint, to make taking dosages tasty. The spray, like the pill, doesn’t contain any stimulants, like caffeine.
Instead, it is made with organic alcohol or pure water, which help to create a stable and strong product. Hoodia spray provides the same great benefits as the pill form, like no side effects and a healthy energetic feeling. It is also rich in antioxidants and fiber, both of which are valuable to maintain healthy body function.
Hoodia spray could very well be the future of dieting. It is safe to use and will have no unpleasant side effects. It fools the body into believing that it is not hungry and provides many essential minerals and vitamins to the body. It is also fast acting, because it’s in form that needs no digesting and is in a convenient form for people to use.
A Review of Hoodia Tea
The Hoodia Gordonii is a truly amazing plant, as it is an all natural appetite suppressant which is able to help people lose a dramatic amount of weight, quickly and easily and with no side effects. It is a plant that comes from the Kalahari Desert, and which has actually been used for centuries by the Xhomani Sans Bushmen of southern Africa’s Kalahari Desert to suppress their appetites during long hunting trips.
However Hoodia really only became discovered in the Western world quite recently, and today it is one of the most popular forms of weight loss assistance in the world. It works because the Hoodia plant includes an active ingredient that is similar to glucose, and which tricks the brain into believing that the body is full when it really is not.
Hoodia Tea
There are many different variations of Hoodia products that you can get, but one of the most popular by far is the Hoodia tea option. One of the most favored features of the Hoodia tea is that it tastes just like regular tea, and yet by consuming it you are suppressing your appetite and also delaying the time that you will feel hunger next, thus resulting in you being less hungry and eating less.
Hoodia tea will curb your appetite almost immediately after you drink it, and so it really gives you full control over your appetite, and is in fact considered as being the most effective natural appetite suppressant ever to be found. It is also a natural mood enhancer and so not only will it help you lose weight but it will also lighten your mood and make you feel happier and more energetic overall.
Hoodia tea is so safe that it is classified as being a dietary supplement, and it is incredibly convenient because you can drink it during or in between meals, and you can even bring it with you on the go. As well, unlike pills and tablets, you can be completely discreet with the tea and no one has to know that you are taking something for your weight.

As a health professional, I have to spend a couple of hours a day reading material related to health and fitness and the other day, I received an email from a colleague pertaining to the feeding of animals in some of our farms and in particular the fact that some of our industrialized food system consider chicken manure an acceptable source of protein in cattle feed. Now call me crazy, but the thought of eating a steak produced from an animal that has been fed in that way is not particularly attractive and needless to say, my first reaction was never to eat meat again, period! In spite of how advanced we think our society is with regards to consumption, hygiene and health, we seemingly have a long way to go!
In Europe and various other parts of the world for example, the mad cow disease phenomena has resulted in the toughening of laws pertaining to the rearing of animals and cattle. A much more informed consumer base has been more and more vocal in its demands for dairy and meat products from cattle that are hormone free and fed with biotech-free grain. As a result, animals cannot be reared with the use of antibiotics and growth hormones.
This trend has slowly paved the way for Organic Food, Organic Meat which is now becoming more and more popular in the list of grocery items in families.
Organic foods have to be produced according to various producing standards which for example prohibit the use of pesticides, human waste, artificial fertilizers and sewage sludge. In addition, the processing of organic food had to be accomplished without food addictives or ionizing radiation. Finally organic produce could not be genetically modified.
Now that this trend is becoming more established in our own supermarkets, we are also starting to see the introduction of a new line of nutritional supplements called organic vitamins, or organic multivitamins.
Organic multivitamins are manufactured with the highest quality control and are usually certified by Organic Certifiers in accordance with the USA-NOP National Organic Standards.
As health professional, I would recommend the use of such nutritional supplements over vitamins, minerals and herbs produced using conventional pre organic methods.
